Miele FJM AirClean 3D Efficiency - Features and Specifications
Miele FJM AirClean 3D Efficiency vacuum bags are very important part of air filtration of many Miele canister vacuums.
Miele FJM AirClean 3D Efficiency are made using soft cloth made of randomly spun fibers ensuring capturing of at least 99.9% of dust particles. Their capacity is 3.7 quarts (~3.5 liters) of dirt when common household dirt is being vacuumed.
However, if the very fine dust is regularly vacuumed, 'Bag Full Sensor' (if present on the vacuum cleaner) may indicate 'Bag Full' before the bag is actually full - fine dust particles may clog the bag's cloth causing large pressure drop which trips the 'Bag Full Sensor' (or the user may notice weaker suction). If that happen, replace the vacuum bag with the new one.
Thanks to their soft design, they also come with so-called '3D Efficiency' feature - as the Miele FJM vacuum bags are filled with the vacuumed dust and other dirt, vacuum cleaner retains its suction strength until the vacuum bag is almost full. This feature is also very important for energy efficiency as well.
Miele Type FJM AirClean 3D Efficiency vacuum bags feature so-called Auto-Seal (self-locking) red collar that keeps microscopic dust and allergens safely trapped inside during disposal of the old vacuum bag.
Miele Type FJM AirClean 3D Efficiency vacuum bags are used by the following Miele canister vacuum cleaners: S200 series, S300 series, S500 series, S4000 series, S6000 series, Compact C1 & Compact C2 Series of canister vacuums.
Note: Miele manufactures several types of vacuum bags and the easiest way to distinguish them is by collar color:
- red collar: Miele Type FJM,
- blue collar: Miele Type GN,
- green collar: Miele Type U,
- yellow collar: Miele Type KK,
- orange* collar: Miele Type Z.
* People debate what is the actual collar color of Miele Type Z vacuum bags. For me - orange! :)
Miele vacuums often combine Type FJM vacuum bags which capture 99.9% of dust, with pre-motor air filters and HEPA air filters, either Miele HEPA AirClean SF-HA 50 (white) air filter or Miele Active AirClean SF-AA 50 (black) air filter, both of which capture at least 99.95% of dust and other small particles (HEPA Class 13 according to the EN 1822/2011 standard).
Such levels of air filtration are important not only to people with asthma and allergy issues, but for all people in general.
Thus, if you have Miele vacuum cleaner that uses Miele FJM vacuum bags, always choose original Miele vacuum bags and air filters - cheaper knockoffs cost less, but in the long run ...
Also, Miele Type FJM bags are available in larger packages that also contain pre-motor and exhaust filters - very cost-effective options.
